Nick earned a Master's degree in American Government from Georgetown University, where he completed his undergraduate studies with honors and championed the creation of a $1 million Social Innovation and Public Service Fund. His credibility as an election reform advocate was solidified when he ran for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2014 from Pennsylvania's 10th District, drawing national attention as both the youngest candidate and the most successful independent of the cycle, garnering over 22,000 votes.
Previously, Nick co-founded The Can Kicks Back campaign to advocate for bipartisan policies to reduce the national debt and was instrumental in the introduction of the INFORM Act to increase transparency in the federal budget. He also served as National Campus Director for Americans Elect, organizing student groups at over 300 colleges nationwide, and worked for Change.org on Change Politics – a non-partisan platform empowering citizens to make informed electoral decisions.
In 2016, Nick was named to the "Forbes 30 Under 30" for Law & Policy. He has provided commentary to a range of television, radio, and print media outlets and is featured in three documentaries: UnRepresented, Follow the Leader, and Broken Eggs.
Nick is the author of The Primary Solution, wherein Nick makes a bold proposal to abolish party primaries in our country. Published by Simon & Schuster, the book offers voters across the political spectrum a realistic roadmap to a more representative and functional democracy and describes how to fix the biggest solvable problem in American politics today: partisan primaries.
