As Unite America’s Vice President of People and Operations, Melissa is tasked with acquiring, developing, and retaining top talent to advance Unite America’s mission, cultivating a high-performing team culture and effective organizational practices that prioritize the organization’s shared values, and overseeing all operations functions.
Melissa Browne has nearly two decades of experience working in partnership with students, families, teachers, and communities to increase educational outcomes for kids. She has served in various key leadership roles in PK-12 education, non-profit, and higher education organizations — building, stewarding, and implementing new programs and developing innovative talent systems. Most recently she served as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief of Staff at Teach for America Colorado overseeing operations, finance, talent, and culture systems for the Colorado region.
Melissa graduated from the University of Notre Dame and holds a Master's degree in Urban Education and Policy Studies from Temple University. She currently lives in Denver, CO with her husband and three daughters.
