Steve Poizner, CA Insurance Commissioner

Steve Poizner served as California Insurance Commissioner from 2007 to 2011 and is seeking re-election to that same office. He is a successful businessman, technology entrepreneur, and education philanthropist.
    
The founder of SnapTrack Inc., Mapping, Inc. and EmpoweredU, Steve Poizner is a proven businessman and entrepreneur. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and Stanford University, Steve's career focused on creating and building successful businesses in Silicon Valley. 
He was the founder and CEO of Strategic Mapping Inc., a company that visualized geographic data for public and private clients. He was at the forefront of the GPs business when he founded SnapTrack in 1995, which was later sold to Qualcomm. 
An advocate for public schools, Steve has built companies and led initiatives to improve public schools in California.  Steve served as California's Insurance Commissioner from 2007-2011 before running for Governor of his state.
