Porter B.

Tell Us About Yourself.

I'm a high school senior from Darien, Connecticut. I will start at Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont in February of 2018. I have had a passion for politics all of my life, and I am serving as President of the Student Council during my senior year.

What Does Being A "Centrist" Mean To You, And Why Did You Get Involved?

To me, being a "centrist" is about meaningful progress. Our country has been at an impasse for many years, where the divide between political parties has stagnated any meaningful progress in Congress. I got involved to add a young voice to the mission of solving problems and embracing a cooperative spirit in government.

What Is A Policy Issue You Are Passionate About And Why?

I am very passionate about the environment and protecting our world from dangerous trends of climate change caused by human pollution. If members of my generation don't work to solve this issue, we might lose Earth as we know it.

How Do You Think We Can Unite Our Country And Fix Politics?

If we show the power of the Centrist message and appeal to the American peoples' better selves, we can promote cooperation, deal-making, and compromise for ourselves and the future of our country.
