Rep. Paul Seaton, AK HD-31

Rep. Seaton has served in the Alaska House of Representatives since 2003. He is a commercial fisherman and small business owner.

Paul has called Alaska home since 1975 and has worked as a commercial fisherman, was a member of the West Coast Advisory Panel for the National Academy of Sciences, co-founded the Alaska Marine Conservation Council, and has operated four fishing vessels as the owner of K-N-S Marine.

Rep. Seaton was first elected to represent House District 31 in 2002. In 2016, he helped form the bipartisan governing coalition with two independents, moderate Republican and members of the Democratic Party. In his time in office, Paul has gained several awards and recognitions, including the Defender of Democracy Award, an A+ rating for promoting a sustainable business climate, and the Lowell Thomas Jr. Award for Outstanding Civil Service.

He has served on several committees including the Education Funding District Cost Factor Commission, Joint Legislative Education Task Force. He has also chaired the Education Committee and Special Committee on Education, and Health and Social Services Committee.

Rep. Seaton has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Alaska and a Master's of Science in Marine Zoology from San Diego State University. He lives in Homer with his wife Tina. He enjoys time with their two children and one grandchild.
