Marty Grohman, ME CD-1
Running for: Maine's 1st Congressional District
Marty Grohman is a successful businessman and independent two-term state legislator running for Maine's 1st Congressional District. He grew up on a small dairy farm in rural Maine, where he learned the values of hard work and cooperation. He worked his way through school to become a chemical engineer, and invented a composite decking material that he soon launched into a successful manufacturing company, which grew to sell the product in more than 39 countries and making the Inc 500 list three years in a row.
Marty has a long history of bringing people together to solve problems. He was ranked as the most bipartisan member of the Maine legislature, and has received a number of awards for his work in the state house, including "Legislator of the Year" from the Maine Retail Association and the President's Award from the Maine Sheriffs Association.
Grohman believes strongly in "service before self." He is an active volunteer for the addiction recovery community, and recently worked to launch an Addiction Workforce Job Fair that paired up employers and job seekers, helping to break the cycle of addiction. He is also an active advocate for the veterans community, and was named an Honorary Lifetime Member of the Vietnam Veterans of America.
Marty and his wife Amy live in Biddeford with their two children, Hannah and Henry.
