(Bremerton, Port Orchard, Gig Harbor, Key Peninsula, Fox Island)

As an immigrant who grew up in Laredo, Texas – the most important land port for international trade in the U.S -- Marco understands the significance of building relationships with ALL proud Washingtonians. He has a strong passion for growing the local economy, taking action to invest in our future, and be an advocate leader for a District that flourishes on the hard work of the community’s stakeholders.

As an active servant to the community, Marco believes that by working together, developing community relationships, active listening, and presenting with an equal opportunity approach when it comes to respect, is the best approach to ensure all voices are heard.

In 2008, Marco enlisted in the United States Navy, and proudly served on-board the USS Anzio (CG68) in Virginia, and at the Naval Medicine Training Support Center in Fort Sam Houston, TX.  During his years of active duty service, despite his multiple deployments and special assignments, Marco completed both a Bachelors degree and a Master's degree in Procurement & Government Contracting.

After experiencing, first-hand, the hardships of reintegration, Marco founded the Latino Veterans in Action in 2016. LVA is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to empower and assist the transitioning Latino veterans in the community, and to create a positive impact for the future sake of a globalized society. Marco’s passion for improvement and change is what drove him to building this collective community for veterans, and in turn, foster a strong interest in civic leadership at all levels. LVA now successfully operates in both Texas and Washington.

In 2017, Marco went on to co-found Bremerton Visionaries, a non-profit organization with a vision to create a network of driven professionals that fosters and implements ideas for growth in the city of Bremerton, WA. In addition, Marco proudly holds a position on the board of several organizations to include, the Kitsap County Veterans Advisory Board, Commission on Children and Youth, and the Seattle Federal Executive Board; Diversity and Inclusion Committee. He is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2669 in Port Orchard, WA.

Marco is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Educational Leadership; Public Leadership (EdD) at Seattle University. He resides in Bremerton, WA with his wife Jessica, and their three dogs. You can find Marco and his family at any Seattle Sounders match, as they are passionate supporters, or spending time with his friends and the community members throughout Kitsap peninsula.
