What Does Being A "Centrist" Mean To You, And Why Did You Get Involved?
Being a centrist means being a realist; having the right priorities for government policies based on the best way to run a government using the experience and knowledge of people that have studied government and economics for many years. Priorities include making sure we fight corruption and pork barreling at every turn, having solid trade deals with as much of the world as possible, taking care of the casualties of globalization with work education and training, and improving our education so that we can realize the American dream again for our middle class. That way, we can cut through the 2-party quagmire and elect sensible people to do sensible things, despite the political cost.
What Is A Policy Issue You Are Passionate About And Why?
Education, for the reason outlined above. It is absolutely critical to get our workforce educated and in front of the current and future world economy.
How Do You Think We Can Unite Our Country And Fix Politics?
By keeping a consistent and simple message. By reassuring voters that we have the best long-term interest in mind for the country. By repeating the Centrist message over and over, and working with other like-minded groups and possibly merging with them to join forces. Too many splintered moderate groups will not push the movement forward.
Anything Else You'd Like To Add?
I am a fervent believer in Dr. Wheelan's political and economic philosophies, and would like to contribute more to help the cause.
