WHAT DOES BEING A "CENTRIST" MEAN TO YOU, AND WHY DID YOU GET INVOLVED?
Being a 'centrist' is the idea of looking at political issues with common sense vs. how one should look at it based on their party affiliation. I got involved because I have always had the itch to give back and serve my country. I grew up seeing my dad rise the ranks in the Army and eventually becoming a SGM. When I was of age to join the military, we had very serious conversations. I was under the impression he would be proud of me to want to follow in his footsteps - but it was the opposite. I am hoping that by becoming a founding member, learning, and becoming active - I can help contribute and make a change.
WHAT IS A POLICY ISSUE YOU ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT AND WHY?
I feel as though the current tax code is such a burden and not only discourages businesses from coming into the US, but it hurts the middle class very much. Many people my age are out of school, up to their ears in debt, and finding it hard to live the American Dream. I feel we absolutely should pay our share, but it should be fair and just.
HOW DO YOU THINK WE CAN UNITE OUR COUNTRY AND FIX POLITICS?
I think we can help educate America on real issues and real political agendas vs. what the media wants us to hear. By doing so, we can unite as an educated voting force to elect people with our best interests at heart instead of what a party decides.
