"I come from a conservative background, so I’ve always found myself trying to balance what my parents believed and what I held to be true as my own beliefs. I realized that neither political party represented me leading me, over time, to seek the center. We need to look at our neighbors, recognize all their differences and see the beauty in the uniqueness of this melting pot we call America.

My wish is for Congress to stop holding onto the idea of strict party loyalties and reach across the aisle to work for the American people. I’d like to see more legislation in regards to mental health, anti-discrimination laws for LGBTQ+ individuals, and further decriminalization of marijuana. I’d also implore Congress to work towards term limits, restrictions on gerrymandering, and balancing the budget."
